A Damp but Delightful Day in Oxford

Even a wet day in Oxford can’t dampen your excitement about being in this city of ancient learning and devotion. I arrived by bus from Cambridge around noon, had lunch at the Eagle and Child, favorite hang-out of the Inklings, and ended up having coffee in the Senior Common Room of Keble College with my friend Markus Bockmuehl who is a fellow at Keble. I have been in Oxford many times but it never fails to work its magic.

After the day in Oxford, Markus took me to his home in the lovely hills of Buckinghamshire just outside of Oxford. He and his gracious wife, Celia, have five lovely children, and they have made me feel so welcome and at home.

Looking forward to spending time in the Keble College library tomorrow, hopefully looking at some early biblical manuscripts, and working on my project.
