Basking in Beauty

today I had a wonderful day of poking around the ancient colleges and churches, paths and lanes, shops and parks of Cambridge.  It is a magical place, full of history and thought and energy.  I found it SO relaxing.  I was able to do most of it cycling so continued with the Great Cycle Challenge (see greatcyclechallenge.com/Riders/father wismer/d )

Over lunch I thought a lot about the many challenges the Church has faced over the centuries – challenges to be relevant to a changing culture, authentic to it’s own self, to be compassionate, gracious, generous but also prophetic, etc., and most pointedly, how the education of it’s children has played a vital role in that.  I am so blessed to be the chaplain at St Francis, but also humbled and feeling inadequate to face the challenge.  Glad we’re in this together!

Thanks for reading. Enjoy the photos.  God bless.  Father Wismer
